The short version: we collect your information to make and ship your flip books and run our business. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use your photos for advertising, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.

- Communications — messages you send to customer support and any reviews you submit.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and actions taken in the Service, collected through server logs and cookies.
- Cookies — we use cookies necessary to operate the Service (such as keeping you signed in) and [IF APPLICABLE: analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.]
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create your account and provide the Service
- Print, produce, and ship your flip books
- Process payments, calculate sales tax, and handle refunds
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notices, subscription renewal reminders, account notices)
- Send marketing emails, if you opt in — you can unsubscribe at any time
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests
- Monitor for fraud, abuse, and content that violates our Terms of Use, and comply with legal obligations, including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material
- Improve and secure the Service
Your photos are used only to provide the Service — storing them, generating previews, printing your books, and handling support and quality issues for your orders. We do not use your photos for advertising, do not sell or license them to anyone, and do not use them to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
3. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us run PixFlips, such as our payment processor (Stripe), cloud hosting and storage providers, print production and fulfillment partners, shipping carriers, and email delivery services. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety recipients — we may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PixFlips, our users, or others. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by federal law.
- Business transfers — if PixFlips is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Data Retention
- Photos and projects — retained while your account is active so you can reorder and manage your books. When you delete a photo, a project, or your account, we delete the associated images from our production systems within [30] days, except as needed to complete orders in progress. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to [90] days before being purged.
- Order and payment records — retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (generally [7] years).
- Account information — retained while your account is active and deleted or de-identified after account closure, except records we must keep by law.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls limiting who can view your photos and account data, and logging of access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update — you can view and update your account information in your account settings.
- Delete — you can delete individual photos and projects in the app, or request deletion of your entire account and data by contacting support@pixflips.com.
- Marketing emails — unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. You will still receive transactional emails about your orders and account.
- Cookies — manage through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) may give you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it (described in this policy), the right to request access to or deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of under those provisions.
To exercise your rights, contact us at support@pixflips.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by confirming control of the email address on the account. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 as an account holder. Photos you upload may include images of your family, including children; you are responsible for having the right to use those photos, and we handle them under this policy. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at support@pixflips.com and we will delete it.
9. Where Your Information Is Processed
PixFlips is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
